Tampa Bay Businessman Purchases FenceWare Assets

Lifetime Tampa Bay resident and entrepreneur Joseph G. Cain has bought out the Salt Lake City-based software company FenceWare in an asset purchase agreement. The agreement was finalized in late September. The sale price was not disclosed.

"I am confident I can go back to Utah knowing I have put my baby in capable hands," said Spencer Harden. "Joe Cain and his network of software design and fencing specialists have demonstrated they have what it takes to develop, support and maintain sustainable growth in this unique niche for fence imaging software."

FenceWare developed the FenceMaker fence sales and proposal software in 1997. The software system helps fence contractors, manufacturers and suppliers show customers how different styles of fence, arbors or gazebos will look when installed on their property.

Cain currently owns a stake in Total Vinyl Solutions, a fence fabricator and installer in Odessa, a suburb of Tampa. Cain owned and operated Victorian Millworks Co. from 1991 to 2002.

Prior to building Victorian Millworks, Cain served as a Firefighter for 14 years in Hillsborough County. "I assure FenceWare customers that the buyout and transfer of ownership will not disrupt current FenceWare operations," said Cain.

I pledge my commitment to support the FenceMaker software with the same integrity and dedication I have given all my life to serving others, whether they were fencing customers, decorative woodworking client, fire victims, or friends and family," he added.

For more information on the FenceWare product, contact the company at 8709 Gunn Highway, Odessa, Fla. 33556, or call 813-792-9473.

FenceWare appoints Michael Piazza as National Sales Manager

FenceWare, manufacturers of FenceMaker™ fence imaging software & sales presentation program, has appointed Michael Piazza as national sales manager. FenceMaker, developed in 1997, allows fence contractors to show their customers how different styles of fences will look when installed on their property.

Michael will be responsible for overseeing sales operations nationwide, managing the company’s ever growing network of sales reps. "His knowledge of our software and his long background in the hospitality, sales and customer service industry makes him a perfect fit for our future expansion. "Our focus is our clients," said Joseph Cain, president of FenceWare.

Since the purchase of the company in September of 2006, Joe has made many improvements to the program including full screen resolution, PDF capabilities, high resolution imagery and the ability to bring in objects like arbors, gazebos and other outdoor enhancements to up-sell retail customers. "The last improvement now has created great advertising possibilities for manufacturers of outdoor products other than fence," he explains.

According to Michael this is a great time to be involved. FenceTech 2007 was the launching pad for the new FenceMaker 4.0. It was a great springboard for us. Everyone at the show saw the potential of the program." It’s a winning situation for all involved from the contractor to the manufacturer, to the advertiser," said Michael.

FenceMaker is a great sales tool that has proven its ability not only to close deals but to close them at a higher profit margin. Using FenceMaker gives the user the ability to bring other products into view for the customer. The up-sell potential is vast. It allows fence estimators to make the most out of each sales call while providing the product extruders and manufacturers with tremendous exposure they wouldn’t get otherwise.

Recently, since FenceTech 2007, FenceMaker has received great interest from leaders in the industry, across the country and internationally. As a manufacturer, when you reach the stage that you are producing product on the same playing field with others, it’s the value added service that you provide to your distributors that sets you apart. FenceMaker does that by providing a tool that help's the contractor up-sell and close the deal.

This is where the private label program comes into play. Manufactures or large distributors can have a private labeled version made containing only their product lines. "In essence, what you are giving your customer is an interactive catalog," explains Michael.

PRESS RELEASE: 06/20/07

FenceWare Announces the Release of their New FenceMaker Web Edition™ On-line Application

Fence imaging software leader, FenceWare, announced the release of their newest technology, FenceMaker Web Edition™. Web Edition is the newest product added to the FenceMaker line of fence imaging technology which allows the subscriber to have a custom fence imaging program on their own company’s web site.

The best part is, FenceMaker Web Edition is hosted and maintained by FenceWare on the company’s own secure server network. "This frees up the subscribers IT staff and network resources while allowing our staff to monitor and perform routine maintenance and upgrades," said Joe Cain, owner of FenceWare.

"With this new technology, subscribers to the service will be able to offer their web site users the ability to see the company’s fence, arbors or any other items they sell in front of their own house or business from the company’s web site," said national sales manager, Michael Piazza. "From the standpoint of the customer what could be more convincing than seeing the completed job before they buy?

In the past, deployment issues sometimes caused software developers to create Web applications that use active X controls, sacrificing the rich user interface and responsiveness of Windows Forms for ease of installation. "A big problem with Active X is the safety of downloadable programs," said Cain. "There is currently no mechanism for limiting privileges of Active X controls which can harm the user’s computer". This new Windows-based deployment technology, gives the user the best of both worlds".

The new FenceMaker Web Edition application runs in a secure sandbox provided by the CLR Code Access Security. The application is self-contained and cannot interfere with other applications on the user’s computer. Unlike other deployment technologies, nothing is added to the Program Files folder, the registry, or the desktop.

With this new program there’s no need for the user to upload their house pictures to a web site to use the program. The user simply has to choose "get picture" and select the photo they wish to use from their own computer or camera. This program runs in a separate window that requires the user to be on the subscriber’s web site to operate the program, promoting web site loyalty.

For information on FenceMaker Web Edition™ services or any FenceWare products please contact Michael Piazza at 7901 N. Nebraska Ave., Suite #300B, Tampa, Fla., 33604, or call 1-866-265-3376 or (813)-425-5780. You can also e-mail him at mpiazza@fencemaker.com .
